A MESSAGE FROM DAN:
Sometimes, we need a hard reset.
Sometimes we need to get away and cut all the crap and toxicity out of our lives and rebuild from ground zero.
As creative type professionals, we are faced with a different set of obstacles that the general public may not face at the same intensity.
I have found myself getting into a rut of just churning and burning.. and the money was coming in, but the joy was fleeting.
My Physical health was going into the toilet.
My mental health was fluctuating up and down without a sense of control.
My definition of masculinity was not serving the best version of me.
At age 45, I realized I was at a crossroads in my life, and if I didn’t make some hard left turns in the right direction, I was going to be another victim of American society ... obesity, diabetes, chronic health problems, along with a steady diet of antidepressants and mood stabilizers.
Life doesn’t have to be that way.
Men can be men without being a stereotypical misogynist. We can have intense emotions without feeling like we need to numb them with substances. It sometimes takes a hard reset to get on the right track!
While continuing on this path, I am further wanting to push myself in the right direction. Currently, I am also focused on positive masculinity, along with continued health and wellness practices to prolong my lifestyle, career, relationships, and foster my creative self.
I have decided to host a positive masculinity/hard reset revival in Costa Rica. With the help of my revered friends, Myke Chambers, Ben Shaw, and Ryan Roi, we will be serving as sponsors of sorts for the group.
Each of us has something useful to bring to the table. We are aligned with unifying the tattooing community with a great scope of financial, creative, and spiritual mindfulness. Collectively, we are here to be a sounding board for others wanting to be on the better path, while we continue on ours as well.
So, if you want to get away, shut off your phone, open your your mind, clean out your body, and revitalize, this may be one of the best investments in yourself that you will make.
